Hey everyone!

I have not been online for a while...Seattle is getting hit hard with snow and cold weather :(  God forgive me, but I am starting to miss our rainy/cloudy weather...hehehe...Anyways, I have been taking the generic toporol xl 25mg once a day...is it still normal to feel pvc's every once in a while?  I thought this med is suppose to stop them completly...Would love to hear from ya..take care and blow some warm weather over here!

I also suffer from PVC's and was given Toprol at 25 mg - I did not feel any difference at all and sometimes they were worse.  I couldn't increase my dosage as my blood pressure is generally low and the cardio thought it may not be a good idea. If you are not feeling any difference call your dr and let him know.

I am doing a lot better, but I still feel some once in a while.  I use to experience them all night long.  Now I feel them a couple times a day.  I had to take my toporol for a month to feel the difference.  Just wondering if others take a beta blocker for pvc's and still feel the extra beat once in a while.

Hi Mary, I think it is perfectly normal to still feel a couple after starting the meds (but always check with the doc). I took it for a couple of weeks and they increased dramatically, my bp dropped - so I stopped. Glad you are doing so much better. MaryAnn

Hello: I experience PVCs & use Toprol XL, but also use Betapace. Since Betapace, the frequency of PVCs is few & far between.

By the way, I live on the MS Gulf Coast & our weekend was 72 degrees w/beautiful blue skies; it turned awfully cold (high of 46 today) today, but each time I shiver, I think of everyone living up north & feel greatful for our "cold" weather. I'll have a cup of hot chocolate in your honor!

I will take 72 degrees right now = we are having an cold blast. I guess I should have tried the meds for a bit longer as I have PVC's every night - somtimes it's hard to go to sleep. Even though you know that it is not something to worry about for the most part, it is still a very scary feeling. Glad that you are doing better.
