Help my husband has not stopped smoking after 2 stents

I feel so bad for you. Its a shame that people are enslaved by tobacco. I know I was till 2 years ago when I went into respiratory failure and spent a week on life support.

I have an Aunt who has emphysema and takes off her oxygen mask to smoke. My best friend had a heart attack at age 44, has 5 stents and is still smoking. He's tried a couple times and failed. His wife gives him no support at all. She still smokes and I guess cigarettes are more important to her than her husband.

Its a terrible addiction that controls people's lives and some would rather die than quit smoking. Its a decision he will have to make himself. If he does and succeeds it will be the best thing he has ever done for himself and he will wonder why he didn't do it 20 years ago.

If the does try to quit the nicotine patch works well. My friend tells me "its too expensive", but its not nearly as expensive as smoking.

I'm sorry I don't really have any good advice to offer and I've probably not made things any better.
