Crestor has a higher rate of side effects than most of the other statins. Personally, I'd be reluctant to take it, especially if it was just to try to get my HDL "good" up...niacin does as good or better of a job of raising HDL and it is a B vitamin (though it does sometimes cause "flushing" which is hard for some people to take). I'd talk to the doctor about
the pros and cons of each and make your decision from there.
