If it was just a matter of paying a higher copay, we would certainly do that. There are 4 other drugs that they will pay for too, so if the generic Zocor doesn't work for him, he has to try the other 4. If our dr. can offer medical proof that they don't do as well as Lipitor, then they will cover the Lipitor ---
It is just so frustrating - we pay a HIGH insurance premium every month because he is self employeed, and now they are dropping a lot of medications that we BOTH are on.
No, he hasn't had problems with TIA's or strokes, just 2 heart attacks.
