This may be a ? for the heart forum instead of my home sweet home Lyme Disease forum, but I will give it a try because my latest heart tests have come back ok. Ever since my Heparin contamination incident/blood infection (Serratia Marcescens), at first I had developed sinus tachycardia/erratic pulse/Palps/PVC's/PAC's, and major, major migraines and obviously a HUGE setback from the Lyme tx I had had thus far.
Right around that same time, one day I noticed my ankles were swollen. It totally freaked me out. My cardiologist prescribed Lasix, which helped for awhile.
There is no connection to the swelling. I can walk and have them swell, or lay around and they will swell.
The 200mg Lasix is no longer working.
I am not talking about just slightly swollen, but double in size. Like I said, the first time it happened, it scared the crap out of me. Now that it has occurred several times, I am getting very small broken blood vessels in the area. I am only 36 years old, I could stand to lose about 20 lbs, but geez. This and dealing with the Lyme symptoms is hard to manage, now that I am at a point in my treatment I feel like I can start excersizing. I was planning on starting walking, but until I know what is causing this and what can be done about it, I am a little scared.
Should I go back to the cardio doc even though the initial problems have resolved, except this, which I don't even know is heart related? By BP is far within normal range (110/70 or lower) My latest cholesterol readings were downright embarasssing-300, triglycerides were like 325. This is about 100 points higher that my last test in August, and I have changed my diet drastically due to the Lyme Disease that one would think these numbers would have dropped. I started taking Kyo-Chrome Garlic pills about 2 weeks ago.
Does anyone else have this problem, and if so, what do you do for it besides elevating your feet? What do you take? What is causing it? Help!
Thanks!
Anne
