I am 36 & have a large PFO that until I had major surgery in Oct of 07 did not cause me issues NOW that seems like a lifetime ago since the surgery all I have had are health issues-migraines, seizures, chronic fatigue, limb weakness, daily headaches, lost some feeling in my right arm, balance issues, kidney stones the list goes on and on. The only way we found out was a seizure and a ambulance ride where the next week a MRI was done on my brain that showed it was abnormal, but no directive ok...well a few days later another seizure this time my family found a nuero on their own. He has been great done alot of tests and found the PFO referred me to Dr. Sherman Sorensen in Murray, UT. this is all he does is PFO closures he saw me twice did his tests and said you have a very large PFO and ASA you are a a high stroke risk you may have been having mini-strokes we need to do some more tests with your neuro.
Well all of these medical issues took there toll from Jan to April - I lost my job and insurance so now I am looking for ways to get it covered as well as meds. for all my meds on a monthly basis we are out of pocket around- $500.00 a month plus specialty visits. Any ideas or experiences would be great to hear - My Drs. say no working right now your to high risk for a stroke. Its hard living life under the umbrella of no insurance and knowing you need a surgery to hopefully make you better. I don't know what families do, I am single and I feel anxiety over my situation every night and what I am putting my family through.
