Hi els,
thank you for responding. I feel very helpless and no longer know what to do. I have been having these chest pains for a little over 2 months now. It is very discomforting. The problem is most of the time they only last for seconds, but can come in clusters. There's no telling when they will come, I can simply be sitting there and they can come. They seem to be a bit harsher at night or early morning, but I get them both day and night. The doctors have prescirbed Zantac, Aspirin (baby dose), and Anti-depressents.
I have seen about 3 or 4 diffrent doctors and 1 cardiologist. No one can seem to tell me what I have. They have done the following tests on me:
Blood test including Lipid (normal)
3 Resting EKG's (normal)
Chest X-ray (normal)
Holtor Monitor (24 hr) (normal)
Stress Test (normal)
You are correct, I have been reasearching Prinzmetal Angina. And it's very scary for me as to how close the symptoms come to being Variant Angina. Especially based on the fact that I was diagnosed with Migraines since the age of 15 and have went untreated due to no insurance. My symptoms began to come on about a week after I quit smoking pot for 2 years. I did not smoke cigarrettes.
I don't know what else to do. I just want them to make this pain go away so I can live a normal life. I figure if these pains have been consistent everyday, then something is wrong. Another problem is that the closest emregency room that is covered by my insurance is 50 miles away. I wouldn;t hesitate to go to the ER (as I have already done it once), but it drives me insane to think that I get to the ER and they won;t do anything.
I am not sure what else to do. I am scheduled for a second opinion with another cardiologist, but they couldn;t schedule me till 9/2/08.
