Hello to all...I just found this site.
I had migranes ALL MY LIFE. During college graduation, I fainted without a reason. The doctors said it was fatigue and stress from graduation. I don't remember a headache at that time, but I had never just 'hit the floor' like that. Later in life, I started menopause and had started hot-flashes which had gotten to occur every three minutes. Non-stop for months. I went for all types of physicals. I have always had a mummer, but the doctors just brushed it off. Fifty-two years (52) old and not one doctor said -- lets check this out. I insisted, thinking that these flashes are coming from somewhere, maybe my heart.
I was 52 years old when my double ASD was found -- on a Friday -- and in surgery on Monday. Surgery lasted less than forty-five (45) minutes. Laying on my back for six hours, I discovered why. Yes, well medicated to stay still that long. My ASDs, together -- I am told, measured two centimeters.
That afternoon they removed the shunts used for the carthe. That was a surprise! Six-inch plastic straws - literally. Was out of the hospital on Tuesday. My doctor said I could go back to work on Wednesday. I did. But, I was very fatigued, so worked half a day. I have noticed, that if I don't take my meds, I will get a 'tinkling' of a headache. But not a migrane.
Fatigued only when I over do and around 2:30 PM I am ready to lay down.
I never nap, unless I am under the weather. Now, I nap just to take care of ME.
One note. I am on Coreg CR 20 mg daily and have gained 30lbs in two years. Has anyone had this happen, if you are taking this med? Thank you.
