At the present time, surgery to repair aortic valves has become common place. It's being performed in hundreds of hospitals throughout the nation, however some people feel more comfortable being treated in a major university medical center. Where do you live? there might be one close to your home. It's better to go to a hospital that's not too far from your home and family, because the recovery after surgery can take a few months. Aortic valve disease is more common than what you think, because more people are living longer and old age affects the aortic valves. Other types of aortic valve conditions are congenital and are usually diagnosed in childhood.
