Hello and welcome to HealingWell. You had your surgery 6 years ago so you have done well up until now. I think that is a good sign.
Angioplasty and medical therapy are alternative treatments for coronary heart disease. Both angioplasty and CABG surgery produce similar long term outcomes in terms of mortality, heart attack and strokes.
Has you cardiologist talk of any other treatment besides the medication?
If you are fearful and uncomfortable on medications only please do seek a second opinion or discuss other options with your physician. The appropriate mode of treatment depends on a number of factors. Your doctor with input from you will be able to decide the best treatment for you based on your symptoms, pathology and general health.
Remember to be your own best advocate and write down your questions before heading out to your Doctors appointment so you are sure to ask all your questions and discuss all your concerns.
You have my support and I am glad you have found us.
Take care and I wish you peace.
