Ekg with Septal Infarct

My 46 y/o husband, had severe chest pressure today, hx of only cholesterol, on crestor 5mg daily, no htn, diabetes, or any other problems.  He stated pain had never been experienced before, remains now with a sore feeling to chest.  He went to a clinic and had a neg. cxr, and ekg showed sinus rhythm (65bpm) with Septal infarct.  He was referred to a cardiologist that will see hm tomorrow.  Is it a heart attack or could it be something like angina?

Hello there.  The Dr. at the clinic should have recognized if your husband was having a heart attack.  Even if your husband was suspicious for a heart attack he should have been sent to the ER or direct admit to the hospital. Therefore I would trust that he did not have a heart attack.  

Did he have lab work at the clinic ?

It is possible to have a normal heart rate during a heart attack. 

I would follow up with your husband's cardiologist and do let us know how he is doing.

Another thought - has your husband ever been dx with GERD ?  Just a thought.
