There was a question re Fish Oil, or the omega-3 fats relating to heart health recently. I know a lot of people who've told me that they in fact do take these supplements and others like myself who just enjoy eating the fish instead. In an article by the Mayo Clinic staff, I found some other information that I was not familiar with and just wanted to pass this along to you...
"The AHA says Fatty fish, such as mackerel, albacore tuna and salmon, contain omega-3 fatty acids. Studies show that omega-3 fats can help prevent heart attack and stroke. The best way to get omega-3 is from food sources. But some people may benefit from a fish oil supplement."
Then they also added this;
"Consult your physician before taking fish oil supplements to reduce your heart disease risk. Large amounts of omega-3 could cause excessive bleeding in some people."
