hi all,
well, i'm on for my endoscopy in about 10 hours. i've had so many
many surgeries, multiple procedures, many of them so very serious,
and i know this is just a little ole diagnostic tool, but nonetheless
i'm pretty nervous and therefore up late not sleeping! bear with me -
i will let you know barb, how it goes so that maybe that will give you
some reassurance. i have so little concern about this procedure
itself, that is, like you i feel if i'm plenty stoned out i won't care or
even know what's going on. and it's a pretty short procedure, but
my doc said to expected 3-4 hours in recovery. i wake up quite
slowly from just about all anesthetic, nauseated for quite a while.
once they cut the narcotics off i wake up quickly, quit vomiting,
am ready to leap up and go home!
i'm mostly worried tommorrow about this, all my forum friends: i've
been off almost all my heart meds for 5 days, gastro guy wouldn't
do the procedure without my doing that. so that's made me a bit
nervous. and i know what that means, surgerically: it means that
off my blood thinners that i need to be able to clot a bit better,
which also means that those little buggers that can cause trouble
OR help might cause trouble. and if i'm knicked at all and it causes
undue bleeding i'd be in a bit of trouble too.
so i guess it makes no sense - i'm not worried about the procedure -
but i am worried about this blood clotting factor.
i will be glad to be leaving DALLAS tomorrow afternoon, where i'm
having the procedure and heading west back to little ole foat worth.
if all the timing goes right, i should be leaving dallas at 5 p.m. on
a friday afternoon, lovely!
meanwhile, i will say TGIF to all of you, hope you feel your best this weekend,
rest, enjoy family, and as soon as i come back to consciousness and keyboard
i'll letcha know how it went. i'm determined to give barb a good report!
many thanks for all your prayers and hugs! they do mean so much.
xo's,
libby
