My husband has a leaky valve and I don't know whether or not to be concerned...

My daughter has a congenital heart defect Aortic Stenosis, and over the years she developed a little leak and
on Monday when we went to see her Cardiologists, he said it wasn't a concern as her's was a mild leak.
He even told us that it would have to be a more serious leak before they would consider anything, so a
mild to moderate leak is not consider bad, but he should be monitored yearly for this leak and yes leaks
can happen as we age, just have the cardiologist monitor it yearly or every other year.
To ease both your minds maybe seek out a second opinion, with a different Cardiologists.

Hey there, thank you for covering my forums and your help is so greatly appreciated.  You have been a tremendous help to the members of this forum and I hope I can give you some of the kind reassurance you give to so many.

I agree with what the other members have posted but I also know how scary this is for you as my hubby was dx with cardiomyopathy with moderate reduction in overall left ventricular function last September and he is just 65.  Just hearing heart disorder in the same sentence with my hubby's name scared me to death until I talked with the Drs. and the cardiologist.

We are in the same situation as you are - be your husband's advocate by making sure he schedules regular evaluations with his  doctor.
