Barb, aren't those grandbabies the best? I agree with the saying, "If you thought your kids were great, wait until you have grandchildren." Or, something like that. I think I've seen it on bumper stickers, too. Seven months is such a great age! I bet she is a cute little marine! LOL. I can picture her in her fatigues. LOL.

I am sorry to hear about the gastritis. I am taking aspirin, 325 mg a day. How much were you taking and what will they give you to replace it, if at all? It sounds like you have had a lot of stress, and a lot going on. HOpe you can get lots of rest this weekend!

Libby, thank you for the kind remarks. I know Teri is a wonderful mod. She's so knowledgeable. I'm more of her sidekick, and enjoy being a cheerleader for you all, and getting support from you all as well. I think this board is like that. We all give and receive.

Hi y'all,

I'm home again.  I ended up having some complications during the ablation and was put in CCU.  I posted about it in the Cardiac Ablations II thread if y'all want to read about what happened.

Barb, thank you for your kind words about your pet.  Snickers died last night after I got home from the hospital.  I'm really sad about that.  My husband I and are going to drive to his parents house and bury her up there in the woods.  I miss her a lot already.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Kathlyn, I agree that grandbabies are even better than when you have your own kids. I am going to spoil her rotten when I'm out there for a week. You are so lucky to have yours so close. I have to call my cardio doc tomorrow to find out what he wants to do about my meds. I think you'll make a great sidekick to Teri. lol

Lil, I'm so sorry to hear about your little Snickers. I wish my little one would have died on her own it is so much easier that way. I wish hamsters lived longer. Well I'm off to the dog park with my furry grandson Kayu and my furry daughter Abby. We have to go before it gets to warm. Abby is sitting on a pillow on the couch next to me patiently waiting and Kayu is downstairs banging his dish around in his kennel to show his impatience with me. Hope you are feeling better today. Libby, I've never had the encapsulated test? I'm afraid to ask what they are looking for?! another :( My best wishes to you girlfriend and please know that I'm thinking of you and praying for the best!!

only got 2 inches total from Arlene and no rain at all. I donot now about the next huricane or not  till after all my tests are done sometime next week when I donot know my doctor is trying to do her best to hurry up and schedual them for me and then go from their.

 

LIbby I have heard fo that test the pill is like a cmera and they can see everything inside better than the tube way and then after it is done with they give yu something to pass it out with . I donot know how accurate it is or not but the teching hospital here  uses it for high risk patients and patiets who cannot  be  put into a light twilight sleep. Yep teri hopefully get some good rst next week this wait and see is geting to me and begining to show on my face my friends at church tell me I lok pale and wshed ut and  yes I am ding my best not to let people bring me down.

Hi Terri, I can't wait until July 8th when we leave to go see little Belle out in NC. I got to see pics of her and my daughter when she went out last week to see her. I missed my furry grandson while he was gone. We had fun at the dog park this morning. It was awful hot though so we tried to stay in the shade as much as possible. Both the doggies are napping now. That's what I want to do once my lunch settles a bit more. You know can't lay down right after eating because of the old stomach. I'm so tired I could fall asleep on the keyboard. I go see the stomach doc on Thrusday. I go tomorrow morning to do blood test for cholesterol and liver one for the Zocor. How are you feeling today? Barb

lil, I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved pet, Snickers. I never had indoor pets, and now have 2 cats. I can't imagine my life without them, and they've only been here less than 2 years. It's amazing how much they fill my life up, as well as annoy me, lol.

Heidi, I'm glad you didn't get the bad end of Arlene! Those hurricanes sound scary to me. Stay safe!

Hi Teri, I'll have to figure out how to send them. I'm not real good with the more complicated things on the computer. It's been a long time since I e-mailed pics. If I don't do something every day I end up not remembering how to do it.

Hey Kathlyn, it is amazing how much animals come to mean to us and fill up our days with laughter and sometimes frustration as they can be annoying at times. I find mine make me laugh more than anything and lord knows we can all use that in our lives. Laughter is good for the heart. Barb tongue

I find that too about the fur kids here. They can get annoying, but they are more enjoyable than anything. My cats were kittens when I had my heart attack and that week while I was going through that and didnt' know it they were climbing up in my lap and laying on my chest and around my neck. I didn't know why they were doing it, but it somehow comforted me. I just wish they had told me to get to ER a lot faster, lol. As of yet I dont' understand everything they "say" to me.

I am so sorry about your Hamster yes they do touch uor hearts and it hurts that is whjy I call it the terible year of firsts. I have one at Rainbow Bridge 15 years this July and my last two were in Dec one Dec 24th at 8:3o am 2001 and  he was 16 1/2 years old a terrier named Terrnace Boomer then my Prcious Beulah Delilah who was abut 8 or 9 my rescue who was starving to death I gave her 2 1/2 years of good loving before she went to the bridge . the Poem is so good and touching for any type of pet Rainbow Bridge matter a fact I will have a picture of dog and cat under a Rainbow on the frpomt of my memorial book and  rainBow Bridge inside instead of a PSm and have it read at my homegoing service. I have it all pllanned out including songs what i want to wear etc  Only stipulation no shoes for I love to go barefoot as a yard dog.  But yes Lil I do feel for yuo.

Still havenot anything from my doc yet on the tests and I canot take another  restless week for my big Community emergency response Training drill is  This Sat from 8am till 1 or 2 maybe even later and we got to get up at 5 am. but I'll post more tomorrow  I hear more storms a coming on through.

Hey Heidi what is Rainbow bridge? And what is the poem you are talking about. I like poems and I love animals so would like to read the poem if you have one please post it here. How are your furkids doing? I missed my furry grandson when he went to see my daughter in law and granddaughter in North Carolina. It was funny when I talked to my daughter when she was out there and I asked how my grandbaby was she responded right away with "He's laying on the backseat of the car being really good". I had to tell her no my human grandbaby. We both laughed about that because I do call her puppy my grandson. Everytime I hear about a hurricane now I think of you and worry and pray for you. All my friends here have come to mean a great deal to me and helped me through a very difficult time and continue to help me. Barb

Hi everyone! :)

Barb, I'll let Heidi tell you about Rainbow Bridge, it's pretty neat!

Right now in my house we have a 75 gal. fish tank, with some big bala sharks and lots of other fish, plus 2 dogs, and 6 cockatiels!! Only 2 will stay, one belongs to my son and his girlfriend and the other 3 will go to the pet store! :( We've had hamsters, frogs, turtles, rabbits, gerbils-no snakes or lizards, as they come natural here in the Tx. landscape. lol

Yes, we all are big animal lovers here-you have to be in a group animal home like ours! lol The babies are the coolest, though...all you hear around here is open mouth cheeping for more food-I feel like a walking syringe!-whenever I even try and sneak by their cage-so in order to have some quiet-I have to cover them, or their little beaks open and they chirp so loud, you can't hear a phone ring! lol

How are you doing, Kathlyn?? I'm so glad that your cable got fixed!! And thank you so very much once again for co modding with me-it feels so good to have you here!!

I also wanted to let everyone know that we have some members amongst us right now that could use a prayer or two, or even just some positive thoughts...

Heidi, is still waiting to hear when they will set up her mammogram and other tests and is really feeling low and depressed.

Libby is dealing with who knows what here lately as she has one test after another.

Cathy (Storrie) from the pericardiectomy thread, has flown to the hospital in Cleveland to have her surgery done this week and it will be a tough one.

I just wanted to wish them all my best and from all of us at HealingWell, I just hope that ya'll do great and that you can feel our positive vibes and our prayers for you!!

hi teri and all,

i'm going home to tejas tomorrow!  i can't wait to  be where it's only 97 instead of 107!

driving, so i will be off the site for a few days.  i had 2 more tests but they can do them

in dallas and i would probably have to wait quite a while to do the other 2, so i'm going to

do them near home instead.  i am done with my consults here at mayo anyway.

so what's up with all you girls?

lili, are you feeling better now, after being home and the complications from the procedure?  i hope you're feeling well.  and i'm so sorry about snickers too. 

heidi, i thought some of those breast tests were already scheduled.  WHEN?  i get antsy about those kinds of things and want things to happen NOW!  i'm very impatient!

                     RAINBOW BRIDGE

 

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

They are Medows and hills or all our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are wam and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill are restored to health and vigor;those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,just as we remember them in our dreams od days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

 

They all run and play together,but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks in the distance.His bright eyes are intent;his eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the greenb grass, his legs  carrying him faster and faster.

 

You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,never to be parted again.The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and yuo look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long from your life but never absent from the heart.

Glad you are going home now  Home Sweet Home.

NO my mammo in Feb showed nothing now June  found a lump but a mass  and waiting for  them to tell me when the high defination mammogram and songram will be done. I want them both done on the same day since we are 25 miles from the hospital where they will be done and it is a wasted day to go down in morning then back in evening. believe me gals and guys I will let everyone know hen my tests are schedualed and the time too. I am still thinking postive thoughts too. A friend of mine had a bad scare but she is cancer free and  like her hopeing and praying for a miracle.

Just a check in. I had a scare this morning when I thought, and I do think it was there, fluid in the area where my abcess was. I had cellulitis in my breast (for goodness sakes, who ever heard of it there?!!) last month. Tomorrow I see my cardiologist and have a long list of questions to ask him, thanks to Teri who picked my brain and offered me part of her's, lol. Okay, she shared her thoughts with me, not her brain. I'm hoping that there is more good news from him.
