Chatting For Hearts...Part IV

now on to the challeenge program if I donot get talked uot of it. Page still in hoospital her sugar is at 165 trying two different  insulin types and has to learn to give herself a shot too. and staymtheir till after 3 pm for she is on a 24 hour urine thing. and she told me she slept restless alot of noise then the resident doctors checking on her at 5 am and she want to get home too.

butu I will be cleaning up some and  dusting etc..

teri, looks like it's almost time for "chatting for hearts part 5" - wow!  we sure all like our chats!  seems the best thread of all to me, sometimes.  although i like the little side ones like knowing where to find out about the latest news on lil's ablation, etc. 

by the way, teri, i'll tell you how I'M doing if you'll tell me how YOU'RE doing! 

really, i'm doing OK.  i'm trying new meds nearly every day.  it took a long time to get that all together and i'm trying a little at a time.  i'm on that new niacin product i told you about, enduracin, and so far NO hot painful hot flushes.  how nice.  haven't restarted the vytorin and don't want to but will next week. 

heidi, so the 2nd heart cath went OK, some good news - that the stents are nice and open, but also some not so good news that other arteries are now clogging and my cholesterol isn't going down fast enough or far enough to suit the docs, so they want me on statins, which made me really sick last that i tried them.  i'm going to try again though, i'm a tough cooky!

i'm still so glad for good news about lil AND heidi.

oh, i'm not sure i can be at the chat tomorrow night.  i'm going to see a video at a friends at 5:30, he lives nearby and i plan to come home as soon as it's over not a big night out, so if i get back in time i will for sure be there!

hey, re the angina attacks, have you and your doc discussed isosorb?  i have

been prescribed it but have not yet started it.  just wondered what you know about it,

if you've tried it, etc.  as we know, everyone has different reactions to thangs, and didn't

know if that was an option for you?  my doc says it should PREVENT and control angina.

i know that's the same thing your patch is supposed to be doing...

hi teri,

that's a darn shame.  do they anticipate that they can help level out your BP so that you can get back on other meds?  i can see not being on something that they can't drop quickly.  it's hard to know there are things out there you can do to help and can't do them!  i feel that way about how i'm eating.  i'd LOVE to be eating more healthily, but the added dilemma with my digestive probs prevents me from eating how i like to eat (healthy) and what i can eat (pain).  it's very frustrating.  so how IS your BP holding?

hi girls (and any interested healing well men, too!),

well, i've been on a heart healthy diet since 1972.  my dad had his first heart attack then and we were the first to go on that diet, so i've been eating pretty healthy for a long time - and still have the heart disease, that's just badluck genetics so the doc says...i never eat fried foods, etc.  it's really just my gut problems that keep me from eating healthier, in fact eating enough at all, i'm down to skin and bones, something i thought i'd NEVER be worried about!  it's a funny feeling, really, to be so dern skinny!
