hi girls,
i think that's a great idea on the weight loss part of heart disease as a thread. i have been up and down and up and down all my life. i always liked what erma bombeck said, that she had lost a total of 700+ pounds over all the years - hahah! anyway, i am FINALLY down where i need to be. it is still a shock to my system to say that and look in the mirror. really the only best part of it is knowing that that's ONE thing i have done to help my heart health, something i can contribute, since there's actually so very little we can do other than meds, etc. i would be glad to offer my thoughts on how i got here finally, but hate to say that it really was just a matter of following all those things we all already know: i eat lots of small meals rather than 3 large. in fact, i eat all day! but i snack on grapes, that kind of thing, and i eat 1/2 the portions i used to, in fact i can't eat more than that at one time now, it's like i had gastric bypass or something, i think my stomach just got used to smaller portions. anyway, i eat half what i used to and when i do snack it's something pretty healthy. it is NOT boring. i am NOT hungry. i have lots of great recipes, but i've gotten very used to simple things like a quick piece of grilled fish, lots of fruit, some vegees when i can (i like them but they don't like me), a handful of nuts...
i'm behind ya'll 10000% on it!
libby
