eyes   Hi Teri and Everyone!!!!

    This is MARYME and I know it has been awhile since I posted here.  I resently posted in Depression since that's what I've been feeling for awhile.  I am going through changes recently both physically and mentally with depression.  I gained 10 lbs on Paxil, yes it helped me for nearly a year and now I'm having problems due to financial problems, probably filing for bankruptcy.  I feel like a failure, can't help it, yet it is weighing heavyly on my mind.  SUCKS.  Trying to move on here.   I saw my cardio on 8/18 and yes I am still depressed and upped me from 20 to 40 mgs. on PAXIL.  HELP, stop the world I want to get offffff!!!.  I pray and hope that I do not gain anymore on Paxil, I could swear I was warned about Altace not Paxil.  Anyway, I will keep you posted on my ongoing saga.

MaryMe, what were you warned about with the Paxil? What I understand about Paxil, if you are talking weight gain, is that it can contribute to weight gain. Something about SSRI's slowing the metabolism. I'm sure if you do a search online you can find lots of information. Do a google search. I'm sorry this has happened. That has to be frustrating.

so sorry you are gaining weight but hopefully  withthe right dosage you will feel better soon nd be back on the raod togood health too. Hang in thier and be gald we have boards like this to come to and get advice and be  back with uor friends like we never left. again feel free to post anytime and come to chat on Thursdays at 8 pm cst.

I'm so happy to see you back here on the cardio forum once again - I've been worried about you and it would seem rightly so.  Not that I'm one to talk re stress and all, but I recently went through a severe depression as well.  I went from Lexapro to Zoloft 100 mg.  I am sorry to hear that you've been feeling so badly and I hope you keep posting here!  You realize that many people with heart disease suffer with depression and sometimes it goes along with heart disease.

 

You are not a failure!  This is a pitfall in your life and you will go on from here.  I know all this happening isn't helping your mind set, but don't give up!  I'm here for you, along with many others!

    Hmmm..I have been on Altacand (Altace) for awhile and was on Plavix for almost a year and never had any weight problems and never heard that as a possible side effect..Maybe just being depressed in general increased your diet?..I know depression is common with CAD so don`t feel you are a failure for feeling that..And don`t worry about bankruptcy..It`s not as bad a process as people fear if you are just a small individual...Anyway ..Please keep us informed :-)

Yes don't worry about bankruptcy we had it back in 1990 and  it only stays on your record 10 years here in Florida. IT was hard for us but I am getting on with my life now.

Yes I wqas on ativan for a while too and suffer with buots of depression too but not bad enough for meds according to my Doctor so I listen to him. So you take care and donot talk bad about yourself say something nice about yourself each day think good thoughts nothingbad about yurself ever you hear me Marry Me that is bad for yuo if you ever watch Dr. Phil he would say Garbage in Garbage OUt so no Garbage in your dear little brain of yurs. YHuo are one specila lady that does alot for others too and  have freinds who care about yuo to. so please come on back an post and join us on one of our chat night Thursday's for now at 8 PM CST.
