For the 2012 Echo, I don't see the EF Listed. The 2014 Echo lists it as 58%, which is pretty good, and doesn't discuss degeneration of your Aortic Valve, as was discussed in the 2012 Echo."
If you look on page 1 of the 2012 results you'll see, under the Aortic Valve column heading, an LVEF (Left Ventricle Ejection Fraction) listed as 58%. On page 1 of the 2014 results, the 58% value is listed in the row (not column) heading of "Previous Echo." The new Ejection Fraction results for 2014 is under the column heading Aortic Valve and the row heading LVEF as 67%. That means that my ejection fraction has INCREASED by 9 percentage points (58 to 67 percent) since 2012!
There are other interesting differences between the 2012 and 2014 echo tests. For example, on page one of the 2012 report it says, "Pressure halftime is 264 milliseconds," for the Aortic Valve. On page two of the 2014 report it says, "Pressure halftime is 366 milliseconds," for the Aortic Valve. I looked it up. Higher halftime numbers are BETTER for the aortic valve!
It gets more interesting. Page two of the 2012 report says, "Concentric left ventricle hypertrophy." On page one of the 2014 report it says, "Left ventricle size is normal..." It went from hypertrophy to NORMAL!!
In addition to all this are values not shown in the results. For example, systolic blood pressure values are elevated for aortic valve regurge problems and usually rise over time. Mine has gone DOWN! My systolic values are generally between 114 and 123 (I take them myself). My resting pulse has also dropped to about the 49 - 55 range! That, in conjunction with a higher Ejection Fraction, loss of left ventricle hypertrophy, and lowered blood pressure, is probably the result of a training effect (and other lifestyle changes I've made) NOT a degradation.
Those are some reasons I wanted someone to look them over. It shows a pattern of IMPROVEMENT, at least to my eyes, where all I've been told is that things are going to get worse as far as my aortic valve problems go. I just wanted to see if others, who knew how to read these tests, see the same things as I've just described and see the IMPROVEMENTS that shouldn't be happening, at least according to standard thinking.
NOTE: I don't use any drugs, prescription or non-prescription, nor have I had any surgery related to these issues. In short: no bio-medical interventions to cause these changes at all.
