I am new member of this forum. back in May I had a heart attack. Heart never stopped but I needed 4 stents. My recovery was quick. I felt great, lost some weight and was walking almost 2 miles a day. At first I was anal over my diet. No salt. lots of veggies and zero fast food. But naturally that did not last. However I still try to be careful. about
3 weeks ago I started to feel something was wrong. My BP became high. Up to 165/95. I felt my heart beating and it was not normal. I upped my Ramipril but it was 2.5mg and I doubled that. BP remained high. I went to see a cardiologist ( we are on a winter vacation)He did an EKG and I have arrhythmias. He gave me a holter. It shows lost of arrhythmias. He prescribed Cordarone (amiodaron) but also wants me to have a Dipyridamole scan. But aren't there other means of doing this: MRI or a stress test? is one method better than another? Although he stated that my condition was not an emergency he wanted this done soon. Is he being over cautious? Are arrhythmias dangerous? Thanks
