Hello. I usually post on the prostate cancer forum but have a question regarding my wife's persistent afib. She's failed cardioversion twice and has a lot of side effects from beta blockers. Her electrophysiologist recommended a hybrid procedure, also known as a convergent procedure. In this procedure the EP does an ablation from inside the heart through a catheter while at the same time a surgeon does an ablation from outside the heart through laproscopy. It's a new technique and not many doctors or hospitals do it. Would love to find other patients who have had this done to ask about effectiveness and risks.
