Greetings: My name is Geoffrey Watson, and I would like to thank this site for all the inside on the surgery I had gone through. It was AAA heart surgery, back in Feb/22/16. And at that time I came on this site and started looking into my medical surgery I would face.
Many of those I read and followed through the site, were very help full and encouraging to me. After the surgery which took place at Wake Forest Bapt. Hospital, I did have some issues, that were taken care of and resolved by the time I left Wake.
Many of the folks on here help me go through the procedure and understand what was ahead. Many that I read did encounter more problems after their surgery of this kind. I hope they all have come through with flying colors and are doing well.
And if some are still at that point of problems, my thoughts and prayers to you and hope for your quick recovery and resolving the issues at hand.
As of this day, 10/16/16, I have completed my 36 sessions of therapy, required by the VA, and had till Aug. to complete them. I requested to be able to return to work, before Aug, and did get cleared by primary doctor, and heart doctor. So by July, I returned to work.
As of this day, I thank God, and those out there that gave advise and thoughts for me while going through this surgery. And also thank every one who passed on prayers and thoughts also. I do not have any issues at this moment and feeling well, and healthy. I tell folks with my new pig valve in my heart, that every time I walk by the bacon at stores, I start to cry! ahahaah! I do hear my heart beating stronger at nights or when I am alone and all is quite around me, heart doctor told me its expected. And I still do not sleep well on my side yet, I can, but I still roll over and lay on my back. I do feel my chest bones, settle in when I do lay down to sleep, doctor told me it would be with me from now on.
So, for those who are facing this surgery, my advise is seek information about the surgery and all that involves in it. Read those on this site who gone through it, some still have issues, and take it in your mind, and be ready to face the surgery with flying colors and strength, cause many of us who have gone through it, can help you understand it, and prep your self mentally and physically for and off course it always good to know prayers and thoughts are there to lift you up. And don't be scared to ask and ask questions, keep looking at different response's.
Again, thank you all for all the information and support I got before, during and after issues to help me come through this surgery and also my family learning along with me. And thank you so much for this site of many other medical situations and incites to those different medical problems that they will be facing and going through. God Bless every one, and again, thank you all so much. Geoffrey Watson
