PLEASE HELP! Chest pain for months that moves + left arm tired

Hi! I am a 25 year old female. I have had chest discomfort for 3 months that won't go away. I have had all the tests (echo, stress, ekg) all came back normal. Cardiologist said I have "probable" mitral valve prolapse meaning he didn't see it on echo but thinks he hears clicking.

Prescribed a beta blocker. Made chest feel worse and hard to breathe (I have asthma) so I stopped taking. He assured me nothing is wrong with my heart.
However the chest pain is still there. It also is in my left arm. My left arm feels so tired and my whole left side feels tired and heavy . The chest discomfort also moves. It's always on left side of chest but moves from right of breast near bone, an inch or so above the nipple, left armpit, and on the left lower side of the breast. I also feel burning and almost "tired" feeling in the back. My left arm feels so tired and heavy.

The chest discomfort almost feels like a pulling sensation, sometimes burning. It's way more annoying and worrisome than painful. It rarely HURTS but it sometimes feel like heart skips a beat and if I have that then I feel pretty dull pains that alarm me. Almost like a poking pain? Wouldn't describe it as sharp.
Also want to note it's worse when laying down.

Since all my test came back ok should I not be concerned this is cardiac? Does chest discomfort move around if cardiac? Is this just anxiety?
Has anyone ever heard of this or had this?
I have a history of Lyme disease.

Hi KM, I happened to see your post & wanted to to respond to you. Since your cardio workup is normal, I think you need to give that a huge sigh of relief. That is the best news anyone would want to get. If the cardiologist felt you were in trouble with your heart he would have told you.

Something you may want to check out is costochondritis ( I may have just slaughtered the spelling of that, lol). What you are describing sounds a lot like that. If you will use the search feature here at Healing Well, you can find a lot of older threads on this, or do a google search. Since the threads here will be older it would probably be better to read more current information.

If you are having anxiety with this that could very well be the culprit too. However, check out the other & see what you can find.

Hi Susie! Thank you for your response. One more question have you ever heard of myocarditis? Should I be concerned with this?

KM, I am not a dr by any means. Yes, I am very familiar with it & based on your testing I would have to say no, this is not what is going on with you. There are many, many things that mimic possible heart related issues & once the heart has been checked out to be fine it is time to move on. In other words, don't spend precious time & energy concentrating on a heart issue that is not there.

This is why I suggested checking out costochondritis. Anxiety can make a person think its heart related, when its the anxiety causing the issues. People with GERD think they are having heart issues, only to find out its GERD.

Thank you again. Although you're not a doc it's reassuring you're familiar with it.

I am actually on Pepcid but I had an endoscopy a year ago that came back ok. However my stomach feels pretty gurgly sometimes so the ER prescribed me Pepcid.

KM, I did a forum search for costochondritis so please check it out. If you can relate to it, by all means make an appt with your PCP & discuss it with him/her. It is something that tends to come & go, there is some treatment available. It is not a life threatening thing either. In the meantime, try a moist heating pad or pack on your chest when it hits, see if that gives you some relief.
