Interpreting stress echo results

Hi Melissuh, those results seem to be normal as they are written. A normal ejection fraction is between 50 and 70%. I had to have a nuclear stress test and echo months ago after having an abnormal EKG and even with that, my tests came out normal. The cardiologist says people sometimes develop irregular EKGs and they will remain that way but the heart is fine. However, since I did have the irregular EKG, he ordered those tests.

It's good that your doctor did order those for you and it rules out heart problems so that's great!

Doctors order these tests to rule out physical problems. This is what my doctor did for me many years ago. I had a LOT of tests and the fact that I had to have these tests even made me more worried. I was convinced I had something major wrong but at the same time these tests were to rule out physical problems. In short, they came out fine. My problem was anxiety. Anxiety can manifest itself physically on the body in breathing, rapid heart beats, chest pressure and of course lots of different feelings of angst and uneasiness, mood changes, fear, crying, anger, flight. Of course there are different medications for these feelings and some work for some people better than others. I think this might be what's going on here with you (but of course I'm not a doctor) from your description of the chest heaviness and breathing.
