gurgling sensation in upper abdomen and chest

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can help me with what this might be.  I have costochondritis but this feeling im getting feels totally unrelated. i get this feeling of gurgling in my chest and my back. Sometimes I can even feel it through my shoulders. I dont understand what it could be but its really worrying me.  I dont know if its my stomach producing this feeling or my heart.  i find that i burp and let alot of air off flatulance. I can discribe this feeling i get also like a slushing feeling in the chest.  Is anyone else going through the same thing what is it..... please help me asap...... ive had this feeling for days even weeks now should i go to the ER.

Hi Grant,  I have not heard of this.  Have you tried contacting your PCP and perhaps asking his nurse?  Most times your doctors nurse will answer questions or can set you up appointment quicker that way.  Just a suggestion.....

If the gurgling was ONLY coming from your heart......Well, I'll put it like this; I got some heavy duty rotorootering done on my heart, received 2 stents (in lieu of bypass surgery), one stent was huge, about 5 weeks ago.

Yesterday I noticed this "froggy feeling" in my heart (which has been sore), and it seemed I could feel gurgling within it. In the past I was told I had some mild mitral valve regurgitation and traces of tricuspid valve regurgitation. I think the procedure I had, or progression of heart disease, may have increased the regurgitation (backward leakage) of either of these heart valves. This is a theory I am working on :)

I hope your gurgling has nothing to do with your heart. I don't gurgle anywhere else.....This happened to me yesterday after overdoing myself, which doesn't take much right now. I am still recovering, I think. With heart disease you never know whether the reason for feeling bad is because of recovery from a procedure, or whether you are headed downhill due to the procedure. They experiment on you and leave you to decide when to throw the towel in, by dialing 911, or become a statistic of the morbid variety.
