Hello,
I am new to this forum, I figured that I would give it a shot.
I am a 30 yr old male 5'8", non-smoker, moderate coffee drinker, moderate alcohol drinker. There has been a history of heart attack in my family (grandfather has had more than one)
I have been having consistent dizzy spells since my early 20's... they have been increasingly more in the past few years. I went to my doctor back in my early 20's and he directed me to the cardiologist for tests (overnight heart monitor, ultrasound, stress tests). The cardiologist found nothing but some plaque build up in one of my arteries I believe (forgive me I am not a medical professional). I also saw the neurologist and he did not find anything. At the time my drivers licence was suspended because I had complained of constant dizziness. When nothing was determined to be wrong with me I was discouraged from going back to the doctor due to losing my licence for no reason. Now I am finding that my dizziness and symptoms are worsening. A list of my symptoms is below, I am not sure that they are all related:
-frequent dizzy spells - some minor - some major lasting 30 seconds that end in a bit of burning in my heart (heartburn like)- all times of the day
-flashes of light in my eyes - minor flashes all times of the day- major flashes 2 or 3 times per day
-temporary loss of vision (peripheral) sometimes lasting 20 minutes (including flashes of light) once in a while
- increasingly blurred vision sometimes noticed from one day to the next
- floaters in my eyes( i have been told by the neurologist that they are dead cells and wont go away - just get worse with age)
- ringing in my ears (consistently)
- red face especially when drinking alcohol and noticed when entering a hot car, or hot room
- i have had a few incidents of impotence in the past 2 years
Please note, I experience consistent dizziness but have never blacked out or passed out. My last visit to the doctor was in the spring and I had a physical performed with no significant results. My doctor mentioned my blood pressure was slightly high but did not want to put me on meds because of my age. He indicated to me that I should try to excersise and eat healthy. My concern is it is not my eating because I am not a terrible eater and not terribly overweight. I try to excersise but I worry anything strenuous is going to make me black out. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank-you very much.
Dennis
