Hi, I'm new to this but I need some answers. My mom is 80 years old and had a bi-femoral bypass last year. They found an aortic aneurism and took care of it. Now they say her cartoid artery is blocked by at least 80%. The surgeon said that he wouldn't do the surgery due to her age and the percentage factor of 3.4 out of 4 concerning her blockage. Just what does that mean? Is surgery ever going to be something that can be done? She seems to think that if she has symptoms, she can go to the hospital and THEN the doctor will do the surgery. Is that true? If so, why not do the "flushing" now? Thank you.
