8 beat run of PVC/s

I've had an event monitor on for 3 weeks. Cardio's office just called and said that he wants to see me - but they can't get me in until the end of Sept. The event monitor caught a couple of 8 beat runs of PVCs. Have any of you had that many in a row. Nurse said he will probably want to put me on medication (I already take Toprol XL .50mg 1 x day). I do have a 100% blocked RCA, but collaterols have taken over the blood supply job. All other arteries were clear a year ago. Anyone have any insight? I have heard terrible things about the anit-arrythmic medications - so right now I am nervous. I should add that at the time I was wearing the event monitor I was under major stress taking care of my bedridden mother. Wore an event monitor 5 years ago, and had 3 beat runs of them, then, too. Just how dangerous is it when it gets up to 8 beat runs?

It's hard to tell whether an 8-beat-long run of PVCs is benign or not.  It depends on your cardiac history, so only your doctor can tell for sure.  But, I personally have had runs of constant PVCs - hundreds of them in a row - so it may not necessarily be abnormal. 

How's that for a vague answer?  Hope everything goes okay and things with your mom are a little easier on you!
