Hello,
Probably a little long-winded and full of grammar errors but please read, maybe you can help me
I have passed out twice in the last 10 months, never before in my life before Jan 3rd 2007.
Jan. 3rd 2007------the first one----- I passed out after getting up to switch chairs, I then passed out, shortly after I went into a full GM seizure/convulsions. I sat in the chair during the entire event, maybe with some help. After being helped by two friends, lucky me...I was in a daze for an hour or so throwing up, dizzy and so on. My friends took me home claiming "you can’t drive after a seizure". Once home, my wife took me to the ER, had a CT scan, MRI, extensive blood work done with my white cells low (possible seizure indicator?) seen a Neurologist in the ER that suggested that was an indicator? Felt like total crap for the next few days, couldn't get into see the Neurologist from the ER so I went to the big city and found one of the best I could. After several evaluations and an EEG he found nothing. No driving for 6 months, no ladders and so on... I continued to feel like total crap for 2 full months...a complete re-boot I guess. I started to feel like my self again after some time but not really, always a little light headed weird but not overly painful headaches. I was finally released and told to drive (they don't report it to the police anyway after checking) likely just a one time event...?
Nov. 12 2007------the second one----While in a doctor’s office I passed out under the care of an orthopedic surgeon and a nurse. I had an injection into my elbow for on going pain. During the shot, I cramped up in my stomach and had to stand to stretch. Once the doc was done I stood up fast and had to set back down quickly. I then passed out; I felt the warmth going to my head just as last time, then I was out. They laid me on the floor, after 30 secs I woke. FREAKING OUT, I had no clue were I was, sweating, pale and started to throw up. They called my wife, the poor girl is freaking out too! Again! She rushed over then after some time took me to the ER! After seeing the same Neurologist from the last time, he suggested that maybe I had a syncope, makes sense, I'm thinking, what else can I do? So after paying big bucks to finish my insurance deductible, I do the table test, negative results just out big money and its the end of the year, I can start paying on my deductible again next month/year, right? Oh well.
That’s where I am right now, no answer.
I do see an internist MD in the morning, he is my family doctor and I do plan on returning to the Neurologist in the big city, nice guy and very smart I think. I'm also guessing that I need to see a cardiologist too! I'm gonna meet my deductible fast this year I think.
Other problems that may be associated are my hives, since 1999, I get a bad case once or twice a year but not at the time of the events. At one time I had them on my neck and mouth and almost lost my air way per the ER. I think there is some link, both are warning signs of the problem.
Any help? Thanks for reading
