i HAVE READ THE ARTICLES about GERD AND HEARTBURN. I WAS DIAGNOSED AT VA HOSP WITH H.H., BUT THYE HAVE HAD NO TIME IN OVER 1 AND HALF YEARS TO GIVE ASSISTANCE IN REMEDY.

NOW I DO NOT SLEEP OFTEN. MY CHEST HURST WITH ANY KIND OF FOOD. PAIN IN MY LEFT ARM (LIKE NERVE PAIN) AND OFTEN SEVERE PAIN LEFT SIDE UNDER BREST AND CENTER CHEST.

ANYONE EXPERIENCE THESE SYMPTOMS AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, PLEASE.

Run, don't walk for a SECOND opinion.  When you were diagnosed, what were your symptoms, are they worse now? Who diagnosed you? Did they do any tests? PLEASE, take care of yourself, be very proactive in this......get another opinion, NOW. I too had a HH, but just had it fixed while I had a Lap Nissen done. My surgeon was very surprised at how large mine was, he even used a patch on my diaphragm.

CALL ANOTHER DR!  GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hi, Thanks for your response.

The VA found it after many visits and not believing me for symptoms. The x-ray Mge. decided to add another test

(something with a liquid you drink and the image is done while periodically dring this liquid--he said he could see the progree of the liguid).

The xray that was asked for was a chest xray. FINALLY SOMEONE LISTENED.

Once the xray was in, I was not schedlued for another visit. I called they said it was HH and nothing was offered.

I have no other insurance and no funds to go to another doctor.

I have paid attention to what others say and have tried to watch my diet and exercise and monitor what foods are most proned to hurt me.

It seems everything hurts me. Some more than others, but all end up hurting.

It is worse than it began but at least I am not scared to death when I choke now. At least I know what is happening. Now I try to monitor wht I eat ( no white bread of any kind--fried food acids, etc) and eat SLOWLY.

It is what I am able to do.

Hi SZIQ, and welcome to healingwell. I am happy you have found us, as this is an awesome place for information and support. I know you are anxious, but please, I have to ask that you not do your posts in all caps, as that is considered yelling, and we don't really love that around here. I do understand your fear, and frustration though. You say you have no insurance and no funds for a doctor. Can you get some help through your government, or is there any way for you to get some assistance? You need to be able to get some help somewhere...Try calling your local department of human services, and see what can be offered to you. You certainly need to get a 2nd opinion. You can't go on like this. Please stick with us...we are here for you! Wishing you all the best!

I WRITE IN CAPS FOR TWO REASONS. ONE IS I CAN SEE IT AND THE OTHER IS TWO FINGERS ON EACH HAND DO NOT WORK DUE TO THE NERVE PROBLEMS I MENTIONED.

BUT, I WILL LEAVE YOU NOW AND LOOK FOR HELP FROM SOMEPLACE THAT I AM NOT OFFENDING EITH MY INABILITIES.

SZIQ...I was not saying that you are offending anyone. I didn't realize that you could only type in caps...especially since you typed fine in your 2nd post. I am not here to argue with you or anything like that, and if you want or need help, we want to be here to help you. If you decide to leave, I wish you the best, but I wish you wouldn't have gotten so offended by my telling you the rules. On the computer, all caps is considered yelling, that is the only point I was trying to make. Please, feel free to email me if you have any questions. Do stick with us.
