Becoming full faster than before having acid reflux?

Does anyone become full a lot faster than before having acid reflux?  I eat half as much as I used to and my stomach becomes bloated.  My appetite is decreased a little as well.

I don't have any major acid reflux symtoms.  I have the metallic taste in my mouth every morning, damage to my throat from LPR (difficulty swallowing) and I get the metallic taste in my mouth at the same times every day (9:00 AM, 12:00 Noon, and around 5:00 PM.)  I do not get any reflux symptoms after eating.

Yes... I have the same problem. I can be starving and then about a 1/3 of the way into a normal sized meal I am full. I do find it a lot worse if I drink whilst eating as that fills my stomach up, leaving less space for food.

I too get a weird taste in my mouth, it's mainly when I am hungry, so around similar times to you, but I'd say it's more a sour type taste, however, unlike you I get (sometime extreme) bloating and pain after eating.

I too find that my appetite is decreasing, however I think that side of my symptoms is related to the fact that I now associate food with feeling horrid.

I thought I was the only one that had symptoms before eating when I am hungry.  It seems rare and strange. I can't think of an explanation for it.

Katie and Kevin--I agree with both of you. I also can eat much less (which for me is a good thing) than I could before I developed GERD. For example, a McDonald's regular hamburger (the small kind from a Happy Meal) and 8 oz of milk is a big meal for me. I just can't eat anything in quantity.

My appetite has definitely decreased because I know I may have stomach pain, gas, or other troubles. I also have a fear of choking so it's all a headache. Today at work they had pizza and pop for a staff luncheon. Soda absolutely kills my stomach, so that was out. I can eat cheese pizza, but only about half a slice--then I'm full. And I have to chew it so thoroughly, I feel like an idiot. I sort of avoided the luncheon and hung out with my yogurt and string cheese stick and crackers.

I was feeling a little sorry for myself, but then I heard about a little girl at our school who is awaiting a lung transplant. I got over myself pretty fast. As miserable as I can get, it's all perspective.
