I've been on "easy" foods since December due to a stricture in my esophagus and GERD. This is what I do a lot of : Slim-Fast cans, yogurt, 2% milk, oatmeal packets, cheese sticks (string and cheddar), Ritz crackers (chew well), almost any soups with really thoroughly cooked soft meats...not too spicy, tons of water. Lately I have gotten into Boca burgers....chop up well and chew well. Also mashed potatoes and the insides of a baked potato...for example from Wendy's. Bananas are good but chew carefully. Mashed pasta stuff is good in small quantities. I don't eat meat ever in public as am too frightened. I went out the other day for breakfast and had a piece of coffee cake, 2 scrambled eggs, and milk. For dinner at a Mexican restaurant, I had two pieces of a cheese crisp and milk. I just don't eat a lot.
I can also eat pies, cakes, and coffee cake type things. But my tummy gets full very quickly so I am still losing weight.
I have a huge fear of most meats, marshmallows, jelly beans and meat mixed with bread. I'm not good with salads or vegies as they get caught in my throat. I can do pureed vegies but they're hard to find. Citrus fruit is a no-no.
No coffee, tea, soda.
I hate the taste of Ensure. I do SlimFast for the vitamins and because it goes down easy. I get it at WalMart for the price.
