Candida diet imposible with my complications

Hi, im new here.  I need serious help.  I have severe Gerd and bile reflux.  The bile comes up into my throat and burns like hell.  PPIs dont stop bile from refluxing up so basically there wasnt much I could do about this problem.  Docs didnt understand what was going on and basically said there wasnt anything they could do to help me.  I went to a naturopathic doc and found out I had a lot of bad bacteria in my intestines, which i guess feed on sugar and carbs.  Ok, this is where the problem comes in.  I am in complete agony whenever I eat due to the burnging from the acid and bile in my upper throat.  I cant swallow pills, I have tried this and felt as though I was going to die from the pain.  I cant eat meat because it tears up my throat, and I cant eat most veggies like lettuce becaue it hurts like hell to eat them.  I cant eat yellow squash and cucumbers if I steam them, and eggs.  The candida diet eliminates all fruit, dairy, ect, b ut dairy like yogurt seems to be the only thing that goes down ok, and fruits like mellons are soft enough to where they dont bother my throat, but these food are a no no on the diet.  So basically, im stuck, what am I supposed to do??  How am I suppposed to kill the candida if I cant swallow pills or follow the diet?  THis is impossible Ive tried and i cant live off of eggs and yellow squash.  Im so frustrated

Gabby, don't panic.

There was a time when all I could eat was Slim-Fast and yogurt. I ate that for about two months straight. It was all I could get down because I choked on everything else.

Doctors, no matter how well intended don't know everything. Sometimes our bodies just go through rough patches and need some time to get back to normal. I'd go see another regular doc and explain what is going on. See if he has any ideas. Eat whatever you can get down.

Try some Mylanta also for the acid and bile.

You'd be surprised how well you CAN live off things like eggs, yellow squash, and yogurt, etc. Try to relax a little. Things will get better.

Gabby,

There was another thread on here a while back where someone was having a hard time eating much of anything. Someone else mentioned that they had seen a nutritionist when in a similar condition, and that they had helped. That might be an option for you too.

Hi Gabby,

I also think you should go back to the doctor or get a new one.  Be very persistent if you have to.  I feel for anyone going through this.  Trust me - I know.  It's absolutely the worst but you will get better.  I once could also not eat anything but Ensure drinks.  The pain was so intense, I was in borderline shock!  I lost over 30 pounds!

To get my condition under control I was on 1 ppi 2x daily (rotated between Zergerid, Nexium, and Protonix), 1 anticholinergic (bentyl) 4x daily, 1 anti-ulcer (sucralfate) 4x daily, 2 herbals: dgl licorice root 4x daily, mastic gum 4x daily, and activated charcoal pills as needed (there was a limit to the charcoal pills though).  I also couldn't eat any solid food or all hell would break loose.  So I basically lived on Ensure drinks for a long time.  Give it time because you will get better very slowly. 

One thing you can go out and buy tonight is Aloe Vera Juice.  Be sure to get the best possible stuff because they all vary in various degrees of quality.  I bought some really good stuff at Walmart and it helped me through some tough weeks of agonizing pain. 

Also I assume you got tested for h. pylori?  If all tests come back negative you can try and take the CDSA 2.0 from Geneva Lab's...  It may help you.  It costs a lot but it tests for all the stuff the doctors won't test for.

Hi thanks for replying.  I looked at the back of my throat today and saw that it was white and puss looking....it scared me so much because I have never seen it like that before....the acid/bile has literally burned away theh back of my throat...omg I had a panic attack today because of it.  It hurts like you would not believe.  I have been living off of yogurt and eggs for weeks now....everything I eat no matter what it is burns or gives me acid or makes my throat close up.  I am seriously considering a feeding tube I can't take this pain anymore, this is making me unable to work and function normally.  I have gastroparesis too, which makes me sick to eat anything because food just sits therer and ferments in my stomach.  I am so desparate for a cure I cant believe anyone has to suffer so much this disease is an absolute nightmare.
