Hi, I'm new to this forum.  I usually go to the ulcerated colitis forum because I have that and now I have gastric ulcers and take NEXIUM.  I've been on the Nexium for a couple of months and have a very, very dry mouth.  Now I have a white coated tongue and an awful taste in my mouth.  Is there anyone out there that takes Nexium and having these same problems.  I'm thinking of asking the doc for a different med for the ulcers.  Tomorrow I have to go for a biopsy of my pancreas.  The angio scan showed something.  I'm praying it's just a cyst.

Hello and Welcome to the GERD forum.  I am not sure about your meds however many meds cause dry mouth.  A white tongue and dry mouth will be seen in people who are severely dehydrated and I am hoping you are drinking plenty of fluids.  I am glad you see your Dr. tomorrow.

I am so sorry you have to have a biopsy of your pancreas and I know how hard the waiting for the results can be.  I will be saying a  pray for you.

I ALWAYS have a white tongue.  And I drink PLENTY of water.  So, I guess that mine is not because I'm dehydrated?

I think a white tongue is caused by candida or a fungus.  I have white tongue too its gross I want to get rid of it.

Actually, I was tested for candidasis, and I was told that I don't have it...So they think that the white tongue is from my digestion mess..

I do also have a terribly dry throat...

Had my biopsy today and it went well. I was asleep so it didn't hurt. Doc thought it looked like a cyst and will know tomorrow when he gets primliminary report back. Thanks everyone for prayers and concern. Appreciate it. Arlene
