I've read that some upper GI problems can be the result of the stomach not having enough stomach acid to break down food - mainly due to the person having used too much Anatacids during their lifetime. Also that the symptoms of having too much stomach acid are the same as having too little stomach acid.
I was just wondering what the regular members of this forum thought of those assertions. Is it always the case that people with GERD have too much stomach acid or is it possible that GERD symptoms also result due to too little stomach acid being produced?
Thanks,
D
