               Im all for the natural stuff I've seen footage on Youtube.com and other websites about

the Manuka Honey .  Has anyone tried it ?

Thanks for the info, I have read some on the honey and it seems to have validity in helping with GERD.  I am not a professional but this article was interesting.

I have used Manuka Honey. I'm not sure about the medicinal qualities, but it does help to sooth the wind pipe and the stomach. It's very expensive though, so beware. I've found that 100% pure honey works just as well and is a fraction of the cost of Manuka. Lots of people claim that Manuka can heal a ton of health problems, but I think you need to consume the product for months before you experience any results. I've used it for over a month now, and it didn't seem to heal my GERD. Apple Cider Vinegar did.

I have read the part on the Apple Cider Vinegar now more than once.........how much do you use and why does it help the GERD?

You saw and responded to the other post, so you know why ACV helps me. As for the dosage, I put 2 or 3 teaspoons of ACV in an 8 oz. glass of water. I chug this down, although I've heard of some people drinking it in two or three swallows. The taste isn't great, so that's why I chug. I don't think this matters at all, since the goal is to get it into your stomach. Some people add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten the mix. That certainly doesn't hurt anything.

I take this tonic 3 times a day, usually just after a meal.

Tonight, I risked it, and ate a BBQ hotdog, which usually gives me real problems. After I ate, I took the ACV. It really helped digest the dinner, and the worst thing I felt was a little bit of bloat. Other than that, there was very little feeling of a normal GERD attack. And this is just my second day using ACV. Needless to say, I'm going to keep up with it.

I have had Gerd for a year now, and tried the Manuka honey after a flight medical doctor suggested it. I am now completely off Nexium.

The key to Manuka honey is a rating called the "UMF factor". Avoid anything that says Manuka that does not have this rating. There was a UK government statistic I saw that said more fake Manuka is sold every year than has ever been produced in history.

The brand I am using right now is "comvita", however, I have an order in for a bulk batch of honey from ebay which is made by "Mossops".

Dr suggested a dosage of UMF 15 or higher three times a day (anything over UMF 18 means it has undergone a man made process to concentrate the active ingredients)

I have had good results with only UMF 10+ honey. Although, to be fair, I probably take it 5-6 times a day

If anyone knows of other, non pharma GERD treatments please let me know. I suffered badly from the nexium and Gaviscon side effects
