Just got back from my endoscopy

I had my endoscopy today. I of course cried my eyes out as they gave me the anesthesia (I don't know why, but I always do!!) But of course I woke up and don't remember a thing. The doctor came in and told me they did find damage caused by GERD and that I have a hiatal hernia. He also did a biopsy he said of my intestine to test for why I constantly have diarrhea. So I'm home now with some Nexium and a script. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy on the 29th so I won't be meeting with my doc until after that test is complete. So I'll be researching my butt off now on hiatal hernia's. Anyone have any advice or reccomendations for me? Thanks

BumBum, I remember your first post and was wondering about you.  I am always nervouse about going to sleep too, but the day I had mine, it didn't bother me.  A lot of people had told me it was the best sleep, so I was looking forward to it.  Also I wanted to know what the heck was going on with me.

Mine also detected a hiatal hernia, plus some other things, which one was an ulcer, and some acid reflux in lower part of esophagus.  I remember telling my doc, but I don't want a hiatal hernia!  She said, most everyone has one.  I read the other day that most everyone over 50 has one.  I was still groggy I guess, cause I should have said, I don't want an ulcer.  Well, I didn't want any of it.

My biopsies all were negative.  I pray yours will be also.
