any one here have lpr reflux? if so, how do you manage it or will surgery help it? i was diagnosed about
a year and a half ago after i woke up with an extreme sore throat. I doubled my prevacid and it worked for a while but i was never 100% and now it seems i am having issues again. i have a lot of congestion, throat feels weird, coughing, at times shortness of breath and a wheezing type of feeling thru my throat, liquid type of sensation in throat although i dont bring up liquid and i always notice my throat!!!!! i cant be around strong smells and i lose my voice or my voice cracks and breaks a lot. i also sometimes choke on my own spit at times. i dont have trouble swallowing and i did lose some weight but gained about
10 back and i do have a hiatal hernia but it is not big. my endoscopy last year showed no damage at all. ive had lots of tests including: endoscopy, video strobe, mirror laryngoscopy, breathing tests, etc etc. no one can give me a straight answer! i used to have laryngospasms at times too but that is better for the time being and ive learned to control them by breathing techniques. i do not want to continue to take meds that dont help and i dont want to live this way as i am miserable all the time. i have only tried nexium before the prevacid but it made me too dizzy so i went back to the prevacid and have been on it for about
3 years and 2 x a day since last year. im wondering if maybe people build up tolerances to tummy meds like with other meds? maybe i should try another med? i also wonder if maybe i should look into the surgery since this is horrible. my docs seems to have left me hung out to fry and i am upset about
that. i go to a new ent tomorrow and i will see what he says.
