Soups:
Ok, i dont know if people are doing this or not but regardless, i just opened up a WORLD of possibilities by reading about what people are doing with soups. So here we go, in case you didnt already know:
1. Buy a soup from the store, pick a soup..any soup (Except cream or tomato base soups i guess). You're better off picking one with a heavy broth content. Go home and cook'er up as normal. Then, STRAIN IT and just eat the broth. Ok, nothing too ground breaking, but when you've been drinking straight College Inn chicken broth for the better part of a week this sounds Pretty Tastey! I'm hittin up some strained Prego Italian Wedding tonight! You can give the strained stuff to the lucky folks in your house who can actually eat solids (the dog perhaps?)
2. Ok, again, this aint rocket science, but once you get into the FULL LIQUID portion of your diet and are able to swallow things with a bit more consistency you can start in with this. Buy a Soup, again, ANY SOUP! and get that baby home and THROW IT IN THE BLENDER! Blend it up real good n smooth! Add water if necessary to thin it out and heat it up on the stove and eat.
3. Of course you can do both of these things with homemade fixins. Here's a couple ideas i saw from other people: (these are probably more for FULL LIQUID -> SOFT FOOD Diets)
- Blended Chicken Pot Pie (sans crust) - add milk to thin
- Blended Beef Stew
- Blended ...well...anything! Right now i'm thinking of some blended Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast, but i'll probably stick to the more healthy Boost Drinks...heh, since i am enjoying this much needed weight loss.
Ok, Next posts will be more specific recipes, but i thought i'd share the obvious first... That whole make a soup and strain it thing is probably gunna get me through the next week!
**EDIT** Ramen Noodles is a good idea too. Make as directed just without the noodles. Gives some variety of flavor, albeit not that healthy..heh. I lived off Ramen in High School and College....hey..is that why i have heartburn? Hmmmmm... Spicy Cajun Chicken....mmmmm!
