It sounds as if you're doing great. Your positive attitude is your most important attribute! Don't worry about weight...that will vary from day to day. It's good if you're not losing fast. I lost 14 in 2 weeks, but have stabilized. I know what you mean, though. I expected to lose even more weight. I'm hoping I still do...just more slowly. It'll all depend on how careful I am about what/and when I eat.
I'm sure I could gain weight even with the premature fullness. I could start eating all day long! At this point, I'm eating higher calorie foods--cream soups are very soothing to me. Actually I eat whatever sounds good. Some things don't go through the wrap too well. I'd heard that a hot drink (tea for me) helps when the wrap spasms. That is so true. We went out tonight, and what I was eating wasn't going down too easy (if it's not soup, it tends to be a bit of a challenge). I got some hot tea, and voila! It worked. You might try that, too.
I also notice that if I'm eating something hot/warm (soup), then I need to avoid ice water--it causes spasms. Ice water is fine for me by itself.
I think small bites and chew chew chew chew chew chew is what we'll be doing for quite a while.
But to be fair...I'm only 3 weeks post Nissen. I never thought I'd be eating the variety of foods I'm managing at this point. I'm more than happy with my progress. I am really careful to pay attention when I eat, though. I really don't want to forget, and swallow something that hasn't been chewed enough. I've heard it described as a "hairball", and I don't want that.
You can still graze, but you just have to be careful what you're putting into your mouth. Hey, you can chew it...just don't swallow unless it's mush/liquid. Chew away...
Anyway, it sounds like you're doing great. Keep up the good work!
Happy Healing!
