Part 2 of Day 4 post Nissen Revision

Hey Bill, It is I, Beatrice. I've been praying for janice ,wendy and denise.  I hope all is well. I am scheduled for the nissan on may 7th.  I signed the cnsent that stated laproscopic nissan fundo or toupet fundo. My GI says Hunny, u dont need a toupet u need the fll wrap. I gather he will speak with my surgeon. I am scared. My surgeon says go down to the records and see if any1 has sued me.My recod is clean. Ok but, there is always a 1st for botched surgeries. He says im a pessimist and I totally agreed. LOL. He said go ask dr.pepe i did his wrap he is fine now. I did not know this dr pepe although i will find him.

I am scared but I have no option and thats what I must keep embedding in my pessimistic brain.

Hi bill, not to mention my gerd realted asthma. But its more pain now. The surgeon thinks I may have a hiatial and im begining to think I do. SOmething new is happening maybe it is growing. I told Denise on another post. All night last night I barley slept.Had crazy pain in my ribcage sternum. today while driving up to albany (NY) every time my hubby stepped on the brakes it was like my stomach was coming up (Like on a rollercoaster & I never liked rollercoaster) In any event, we had to stop and get pepcid. The pain was killing me. Although I was tryna be nonchalant about it becuz I do not like to worry my husband, he most certianly said "The hernia must be growing" I really think this is now my problem. I figure if I gotta deal with this now, cut me ,sunction me hell take my stomach .lol

So bill you and I will be hand in hand.We can help the next set or humans that will need our support.lol Im praying fo ya

I was wondering how things have been going for you. Your success gives me a lot encouragement. I know my surgeon is very skilled and sure things will be better afterwards.

Him showing you his scars reminds me of a conversation my wife and I had last night. I was whining about my stomach area being shaved..AGAIN! This will be the 4th time. Anyhow, she told me I should just do it myself and then it would be even. Then I told her if I do that I am going to circle all the incision scars I have and either add smiley faces or connect the dots. Knowing my luck I will end up with a totally new scar down the middle.
So, how's the cold feet coming along? :)

I have been thinking I may try to eat something off the wall the last couple days before mine also. I haven't had steak in over a year. I may take the pain and try it.

Sarah - I had the feeling of a lump after my nissen redo that lasted I would guess roughly 3 months. It could still be that you have swelling in there at this point. I had to be dilated because I was told the lump feeling was that the wrap was a tad to tight. I also had issues swallowing. Do you have that as well ?

Since I was dilated it has decreased the lump feeling some what. Perhaps you should speak with your Doc and discuss your problems, maybe you need the same proceedure which is really common to be done after the Nissen from what I'm to understand. Just my thoughts.

Hell, keep this one going if you want- it matters not and yes it is weird that we're still on it after all this time. So by now you know what time you surgery is. about intubation- my attitude was always to keep my head down and get through it- and spare me the details.

about your kids- I can't imagine a better way to spend this weekend though... our kids are what we ultimately work our whole lives for and getting to spend time with them is our payback. Sports are great ways to do that- good luck with the tournament ! And a graduation for your son...does it get any better?

After alll this waiting, you're finally there- almost. I had to laugh about the laptop question- I had the same struggle with my son. PDA's are tough to write on- I would ask for a special favor from the boy.... tell him dear ol dad needs it a couple days after the surgery. Keep up the good fight- life is bound to get easier sooner or later and by then it will all be in the distant past. There's much to live for and I hope this weekend gives you strength to tackle anything.

So good luck Bill on Monday and I'll be looking for your news and thinking about you. Don't rush- just let us know when the energy allows. As someone who's been there, I'll understand.

Well I did have to have a complete redo. The first one wasn't wrapped properly. That explains why I had problems right after the first one. Typing on a pda is a pain. My son's laptop's power cord wenr bad. Go figure.

Hey Janice,

 How r u? I hope your feeling better these days. I had my wrap done 1st time on ma7 .My quality of life has greatly improved. Wednesday I go bak to the surgeon. I am on pureed /soft however i tried rice and liquified it in my mouth so it would go down easier.
