I've had gerd for about a year and a half now. I take Prilosec twice a day but thats about all I am doing for my symptoms. I also take Tums pretty much everyday. I haven't really done anything with my diet, although I probably should because my acid reflux is severe.
My skin seems to burn in my chest, my neck, my arms and my feet. It's really weird. I don't know if it is caused by the gerd but it has really been worrying me lately.
Let me know if your diet seems to work. I saw how Marburg said no potatos! I eat potatos pretty much every single day. I don't think i can take them out of my diet. But maybe thats why my acid reflux is so bad.
Same here, my eyes started burning yesterday, i hate getting this GERD back after 20 years releif and i am in so much hurry to get down in weight, i power-walk for 1,5hrs each day and lost already lots of weight, still not there but the faster i get down to a BMI of 25 i am probably safe as my first GERD 20 years ago was related to heavy lifting and my overweight, i got thru that with Zantac for 6 months and it healed.
I am still not on medication after 4 weeks of this hell as i get some strange skin rashes as soon as i take PPI, i am beleiving i can heal this myself with correct lifestyle changes fast and it needs to happen fast.
As i know what needs to be changed when having GERD i can be more efficient this time in getting it to heal like raising the bed 8", excerise a LOT to lose weight and eat smaller meals and don't eat much so you actually lose weight.
