its been 8 weeks since the nissen - still can't eat normal foods!?

Hello, I posted here a little over 8 weeks ago a few days before I was supposed to have surgery - a nissen fundoplication revision. For anyone who has had a nissen done, by the full 7 or 8 weeks, did you have trouble eating or were your eating patterns back to normal? Since I got home from the hospital the foods I've been able to eat have been limited. For some reason whenever I eat I get air trapped in my throat - a sharp intense pain. For the past few weeks I've been eating mostly yogurt. I'm going for an upper GI on tuesday to see what the problem is. From any personal experiences, do any of you know what the problem might be / did a similar situation happen to you?

My first Nissen it took me about 3 to 4 months and 2 dilations before I could eat solid foods. I found out 3 years later mine was done wrong. I am 2 months post op on my redo as of the 18th of July and haven't had any real issues this go round. I have even been eating bread for about 3 weeks now. I have been told that some people have to have theirs dilated because it is a little tight. Depends on how the surgeon sizes the wrap. I know Teala has had hers dilated at least once and I thought she said she may have it done again also.

Okay, thank-you for sharing your experience. I am hoping that I won't need more surgery - if I do, it will be my third revision. My first nissen was done at birth. Although if it does come down to that, getting it fixed would make me feel a lot better in the long run.

If anyone else has had to get their surgery revised, did you have similar symptoms to what I listed? & Again, thank-you.
