I had my 3 month follow up after my initial HALO Ablation procedure and he found no trace of Barrett's.  He took biopsies to confirm and told me he wants to see me for another scope in 6 months.

What a relief to know I am Barrett's free.  It has been a pretty stressful journey up to this point but its all worth it to be able to type this note.  I know this may not last forever with the chances of PPI's losing effectiveness, pain coming back, ect. but being able to avoid Nissen for the time being is all I can hope for.  Maybe I can last long enough for them to come out with a procudure with less side effects.

I am scheduled for my Halo360 Jan 28th 2010.

3cm --no dysplasia--but want to take care of it.

Thanks for posting! I am seriously considering a HALO in January. Doctor said I'm a candidate, but I didn't know whether to have another EGD first (I've only had one and that was back in June, but it did show BE with low grade dysplasia). I am leaning strongly toward it to get these cells out of me!

What kind of side effects did you have after the procedure? You may have posted these and I missed them. If so, maybe you could bump your old post up so I could read how it felt for you after the procedure and over these past 3 months.

Lets see.  Side effect were very minimal, but they may be because I only had a cm or so of barretts to begin with.  I think he even did a HALO 90 instead of the 360.  He gave me some liquid something to drink a few times a day and some pain medication.  I did it on a Friday morning and I think I took it easy with just liquids Friday evening and rested most of Saturday.  I think by Saturday afternoon I was eating solid foods and by Sunday I was 100% back to normal.  That said, Im sure I would not have been able to get back on my normal diet so quickly had I had more Barretts but at the same time the recovery is nowhere near what a Nissen seems to be.  I would say both getting my Wisdom Teeth pulled and my Gall Bladder removed where much worse then this, and I did not think those procedures were that bad.  So no worries :)

I just had the 270 degree wrap (Hill Procedure) 14 days ago. My recovery has been very smooth (aside from some gas that would peel wallpaper). :))
I took pain meds off and on for three days, maybe once a day. I'm following a very strick diet by my doctor and am have very few problems.
Have you discussed the less severe Hill with your surgeon?
Today, at day 14, I was able to eat some crushed pineapple with no trouble! :)

In Kansas City, the unaimous response to Hill, or any other parital wrap seems to be the same: "Its less effective overall so I don't recommend it". Seems everyone around here wants to go in once with the best chance for success and thats it. Had there been a doctor that knew and practiced the Hill procedure my story might have been a bit different. Since I was (and still am) not ready to venture nationwide for a doctor and prefer to stay at home, the Hill was really not an option for me.

Its been 5 years now, can anyone provide me their experience with HALO or if B.E. Returned? Thanks much, I want to get rid of my B.E.!
