Thank you Bill , is surgery the only answer to a weak LES, my doctor only knows to prescribe pantoloc for me, the last specialist I saw said that my stomach problems were caused by the fibro in my back , what I find confusing is that when I get a bad attack the only thing that helps is to take an ativan , it seems to relax the esophegus and help me release the gas that seems trapped in my upper body , I went to emerg twice over the years , the first time they gave me a cocktail of lidocaine and ativan , the second time maalox and ativan both times it took care of the pain, seing ativan is a muscle relaxer should it not make the LES even more lax causing more pain , yet it helps , if you can figured this out I would be grateful , no one has the answers it seems .
I am not overweight and I watch my diet but I seem to get a lot worst under stress , I seem to remember reading something about bile reflux and stress .
