Have been officially diagnosed with GERD after 2 years. The reason for the delay was that my first GI thought I had anxiety...anyway that's another story.
Have always been on Nexium. Went for a barium swallow and everything looked ok (no strictures, esophagitus). Despite taking the PPI Nexium (and I have tried quite a few) I still have symptoms varying from heartburn to lump in throat (depending on what day). I have cut out all the "bad" foods, raised the head of my bed and still continue to get symptoms. I have a new GI doctor who I'm seeing in January so hoping for another down the throat to see the damage (I'm hoping that there won't be much if any @ all).
Anyway, have had a lot of anxiety with this and am having a rough day thinking bad thoughts
I guess I just need some words of encouragement from people who have been through this GERD thing and manage to live a normal life.
Thanks to anyone who replies.
