Ok so I have continued on for about a month now with what I suspect is GERD or LPR. While I am feeling better while on my meds and dieting I have come across a new symptom of sorts that is quite bothersome. I have very cold feet. It used to be that I was a furnace and never cold. Now my feet are friggen ice cubes. After again many Google searches and what not I have come across some information on the Vagus Nerve affecting the GI tract (causing many of the symptoms I have) and some of the new ones occurring. I was wondering if anyone here has any input at all?

My feet are cold because of my hypothyroidism.
My mother's feet are cold because of B12 anemia.
I've never heard of your feet being cold because of Gerd. But you never know because it affects everybody differently.

burntslapup, not to scare you or anythigng, but when I was researching chest pain I camd accross an article that said an abdominal annuryism {can't spell} can cause cold feet} maybe you should get checked out, just to be safe....

Get checked out to be safe, but I dont think this is related at all. You can google just about anything and get a million explanations for cold feet.  The winter can give you cold feet!

Propofol, is a sedative used all the time for various things.

Why dont you just get your scope done unsedated?  Its not fun, but will only last about 3-4 mins max..... Then you can go right home...

motox, thanks, but I don't think I could tolerate being scoped unsedated. I have severe esophagitis. I remeber when they scoped me I felt something hit my teeth. I remeber opening my eyes and being in excrtiating pain. And you're right lots of things can cause cold feet. Thought about not mentioning what I read.

I am with you and would not have any scope without sedation. I have anxiety to begin with and just the thought of scoping cold turkey scares me. I know some others are able to tough it out and that is a good thing for them but we are all different so go for the sedation if it helps you through ....................JMHO. ((((((Hugs))))))))

Yes, there are lots of articles about GERD and vagus nerve. The term you need to look for is cardioesophageal reflex (not reflux). The esophagus can trigger heart arrhythmias and vice versa. I have this problem. When I eat somethings to which I am sensitive/allergic, I get tachyarrhythmias.

Why not start your own thread? You'll get more responses. Hijacking someone else's is considered rude.
There's no need for sedation for any of the scopes. I have to work after my scopes, so I don't even get an IV. Endo doesn't hurt, just gags me. Colonoscopy hurts like the dickens for 5 minutes, most of procedure is painless. Versed only gives amnesia, not a pain killer. Fentanyl only works a little on pain and makes lots of people vomit afterwards - for hours! Dilaudid works fine on pain and a little stops the pain without knocking you out or giving you amnesia. Propofol gives amnesia and knocks you out.
