How many of you have had the "buigee" during your wrap?

Just curious. I watched the nissen fundoplication performed online in IRS entirety by 3 different surgeons and 2 out of 3 used a "buigee" ( Hope I'm spelling it correctly.) if no one knows what a bugiee is it us a device to mimic a piece of meat traveling through the esophagus. While the surgeon is fixing the hostel hernia and then wrapping the stomack around the esophagus he wants to make sure he doesn't wrap it to tight because the food won't pass through. For those of you who has the procedure do you know if your surgeon used this device on you? If so do you have an complications since your surgery?

My surgeon was very experienced as well, but did use a bugie to space the wrap.
I have had very good results as far as not having undue gas and bloating, which can be a problem with tighter wraps.
My swallowing has also been good throughout my recovery.

When I was researching my surgery, I read that some surgeons prefer not to use the bougie, because of the risk of puncturing the esophagus.  That risk is made more likely because the bougie is generally placed by the anesthesiologist, who may not have a lot of experience with it. 

It made me worry a bit, but I had the surgery/bougie and all, and didn't have any problems as a result.  The next issue is what size bougie to use.  The surgeon wants the wrap loose enough to allow food through easily, but tight enough to keep acid down.  It's a balancing act.
