esophageal diliation after fundoplication

just saw my surgeon and my fundoplication is still too tight around the esophagus and he wants me to have it dilated. Anyone had this done? Had the surgery 3 weeks ago and really only able to take in liquids as everything else sits in the esophagus before heading south.

I agree with Joy! I only had liquids for at least 4 weeks, first week it was only clear liquids, then "full." I complained of difficulty swallowing anything, nurse told me to come in for dilation. Really, really glad I didn't listen to her!!! It's just right now, don't want it any looser.

thanks for the advice. I also had a barium swollow and my wrap is really, really tight. The doc also told me that when the gi doc looks with the endoscopy, she may not do the dilatation if she thinks it looks okay and just needs to let the swelling go down more. I will be speaking with the gi doc on monday about it.
