Is it safe to drink decaf tea during the post-op period ?

           Hello,

Does anyone know if it is safe to drink decaf. tea during the post-op period of the TIF surgery?  I can't stop thinking about coffee.  I am in week 6 and have 6 more to go!

They gave it to me on day one at the hospital. I guess it's safe.????

They did for me too!  I didn't drink it though.  Did your Dr. say its ok Joy?

What's the 270 wrap?  Is it the same procedure I had?

From what I remember you had the EsophyX TIF (transoral incisionless fundoplication). EsophyX TIF is performed endoscopically using the innovative EsophyX surgical device from EndoGastric Solutions.



The Toupet procedure involves a partial wrap, instead of a full wrap. ... In the treatment, your doctor places a partial wrap of the fundus about 270 degrees around the esophagus.



They would be 2 different procedures. :)

It was on my list, but I'm not a coffee drinker. I did drink the tea though.

My surgery was the 270 degree wrap. My surgeon called it his personal version of the Hill procedure. I wanted the TIF, but now I'm glad he said it wasn't for me.

Why are glad you didn't get it?  I don't think its worked.(TIF)  I get acid reflex/heartburn once a day.  Before I would get it countless times.  Did you know yours worked during the 12 week post-op?

I've been hearing some negative issues that are rising up with the TIF. Did you read Kitt's post recently?

I didn't have any acid reflux after week three. I've been able to burp with ease and as long as I chew well I can swallow easily.
